Straight out of the box, one of the panels had a hole in it (like someone took a hammer to it).
The screw housings were cheap. First one I screwed in broke. Then the second. The hardware reminded me of those flimsy pop-tops on old aluminum cans.

Very happy with this piece. We are using it as a library table on the back of our sofa. I can’t think of any way it could be improved.
Others commented that assembly was difficult. I did not have any problems. I have three tips about assembly:
1) Do not over-torque the cam hardware. The tendency is to turn screws etc. as hard as you can. DON’T DO THAT. It is unnecessary and will strip the hardware. I hand-tightened the camware then tightened 1/4 turn further with a screw driver. That was plenty.

I actually have one as a console for a television in my living room I bought two of these from targetdotcom and they are great pieces. They were easy to put together a couple of photos a lamp and more than a few DVD’s. I really like the tables alot and they really look great. SO easy to put together.. and like I said.. SO sturdy for being an assemble-yourself kind of piece.
The piece arrived quickly and was easy to assemble. The only complaint is that the color is much darker than it appears online. It’s more of an espresso/black finish than espresso.
Was impressed with the well thought through assembly technique and its presentation. All the little parts come in a neatly compartmentalized box and assembly is easy. A good looking piece too… note that the width is significantly more than a regular 12″ bookcase.
